A weekend with no alarms.
This is the first weekend in as long as I can remember I didn’t make a detailed plan of my weekend. I did make a list of all the things I needed/would like to accomplish, but this time I didn’t assign a scheduled time.
The main reason for this change is the Peloton. I can now workout whenever I want and am not a slave to the schedule of my local studio, but also I needed a break after the holidays and all the ski trips. I love it don’t get me wrong but it’s nice to be at home and feel productive, not like I’m constantly running around and behind schedule.
Both days I slepted until 8:30am, which is unheard if you know me and it felt great. Stayed in bed for about an hour, without my phone. And then continued on at a leisurely pace.. morning coffee while making juice, so it would be cold when I was done working out.
So around 11am, down to the Iron Asylum as my husband (and the Rock) calls it and on the bike. Peloton added yoga and I wanted to try that as well and had about an hour. So I opted for a 30 minute bike class and 20 minute yoga class.
These were both on demand classes and ridiculously hard. I was surprised with how sore I was this morning from yesterdays yoga class! It’s been awhile and I definitely felt those chaturanga’s. I am pumped because yoga for me needs to be challenging which is what I thought I’d struggling to find online. Now I guess I just need to perfect the heat. We have a large bathroom in the basement which is perfect to double as a yoga room. I am going to test it a few times with the space heater and if I like it, I’m going to invest in an infrared heater for the space.
Today I also worked out, and at 1pm in the afternoon. I don’t think I have ever worked out at that time ever on Sunday and was motivated. I didn’t another 30 minute ride following by a 10 minutes glute and hamstring stretch, I included a 15 minute continuous upper body circuit, burning out my biceps, triceps and shoulders.
There was also a TON of recipe testing with the air fryer, but there’s another day for that. Right now I am ending this weekend on the couch, watching football, eating the rest of the holiday candy. It’s been amazingly refreshing to relaxing and just be present.
